Stress & PEMF
According to the NHS, stress occurs when you are under pressure and you feel like you cannot cope. Whether it is from emotional of physical pressure, everyone gets stressed and although it is not an ailment in itself, stress can lead to illness.1
Stress can affect everyone differently; some people have headaches, some people have aches and pains and some people struggle to sleep. Stress, when not managed well, can also lead to unhealthy habits, such as smoking and drinking excessively, which in turn have a worse effect on your health.1
In short, stress is a no-no. That is why it is important for you, yourself, to take a break!
Here at Bedfont® and NewMed, it has been quite stressful; in the space of a few short months we have had to organise and host a 3 day distributor meeting with our partners flying in from all over the world, organise and host our 40th anniversary in business party and plan and attend 4 exhibitions – this is on top of everything we already do! Plus as a company we are growing and so are our workloads are growing and while this is great news because it is a new challenge, I for one have to remember that I am not Superwoman or Wonder Woman, I am little me!
Some people can handle more pressure than others, everyone is different, and whilst I can certainly stand my ground, the stress gets to everyone eventually, and for me, I caught a dreaded cold that was circulating as the stress weakened my immune system.
Back to the present, I am now fully recovered and even had a few days off for my birthday and the time to relax and have fun was just what was needed to get me back to being my perky self! I have decided that I need to stop going at 50 million miles per hour and start taking care of myself.
There was this one really good morning when I came into work early and sat on the Vario couch and had a nice heated massage and PEMF therapy session before everyone arrived in the office; I sat and relaxed and read my book. Afterwards, it was one of my most productive days! So I am currently getting in another PEMF session this morning as I write this to you to help me relax, destress, and prepare myself for the new challenges the day brings.
In fact, a study has shown that low-field magnetic stimulation can produce mood-elevating effects!2
But my time is almost up and so I must be getting on! Be sure to schedule some you time into your day/week and why not add a little PEMF therapy to help you relax?
Until next time, happy reading!
Krissy 🙂
