Introducing a walking desk into the office

According to personnel today a significant proportion of those who spend most of their time working sitting at their desks did so for six to nine hours, which many believe could be the source of their aches and pains at the end of the day. With the NHS also recommending to reduce the amount of time we are spent sitting or laying down as much as possible.

It can be difficult to find the time to get up and leave your desks for a walk (especially difficult when the British weather is so unpredictable!) So to help tackle this in the NewMed office and to get the team up and moving, all while staying productive, we have implemented a new treadmill desk! This way the NewMed family can feel all the benefits of walking, all while spreading the word about PEMF therapy,

But what are the benefits of walking? As well as the obvious benefits to our physical health such as maintaining weight, keeping our muscles/ bones healthy, improving circulation, and increasing cardiovascular fitness, it can also have many benefits on our mental health. Exercises release feel-good hormones, and studies have shown that it can reduce stress, manage anxiety, help contribute to a better night’s sleep, and can help improve your confidence and self-esteem.

One of our top tips when using PEMF therapy is to exercise. It is important that we keep our bodies moving, this will help to contribute to a healthy lifestyle. The NHS recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity such as walking or cycling per week.
