Backcare Awareness Week
Today is the start of Backcare Awareness Week, and the theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Back pain in older adults.’ We hear from a lot of older adults who suffer from back pain, who are looking for something to help them manage the pain.
Back pain is one of the major disabling health conditions and up to 85% of adults will experience back pain at some point in their lives. Most low back pain follows injury or trauma but pain can also be caused by conditions such as arthritis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, spondylitis, and osteoporosis.
Many treatments are reducing symptoms temporarily and there are times when surgery is the only resort. Typical treatments of back pain include ice or heat, bed rest, yoga, medications or manipulations such as acupuncture, chiropractic work, and steroids.
Long-term solutions such as PEMF therapy should be considered when you have back pain. PEMFs are safe, non-invasive and convenient, unlike other treatments. There are several studies available online and on our site about back pain. It is one of the most common and effective conditions treated with PEMFs.
Lynda turned to PEMF after trying everything for back pain. She told us “I appreciate this therapy is not cheap! But hands down, I think it’s a sound investment. To say the least! The NewMed team are also extremely helpful. There is so much exciting research online and u tube videos ref PEMF for health. Don’t just take my word for it, take a look for yourself and see how it has impacted some positive changes on many others. Couldn’t be without my mat now – LOVE it”.
The device in which Lynda uses is the OMI full body therapy mat.
