World Health Day – Diabetes
Every year the World Health Organisation selects an area of health concern as the theme for World Health Day.
The theme this year is diabetes, a lifelong condition that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough of the hormone insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. Insulin regulates blood sugar (glucose) and diabetes causes high blood sugar levels. There are 2 major types of diabetes, type 1 and type 2.
We’ve put together this infographic to show some facts about diabetes taken from the WHO website – click to find out more.
Diabetes can cause a number of long and short-term health problems that can impact on a wide variety of parts of the body.
World Health Day 2016 will focus on the prevention and treatment of diabetes. The mission of the WHO Diabetes Programme is to prevent diabetes whenever possible and, where not possible, to minimise complications and maximise quality of life (just like NewMed do).
Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy and diabetes
Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Fields (PEMFs) helps to condition all tissues to be as healthy as possible and they also accelerate the natural health recovery of diabetic tissues. Adding PEMFs will not cure diabetes, but they will help to manage the condition and the circulatory issues that come with it.
Over on NewMed’s website you can see some case study images (take a look if your not squeamish). 🙈
If you want to know more, just ask and we can try our best to help point you in the right direction.
