So why are we talking about migraines? Well, that’s beacuse PEMF therapy can be used to help manage them. If you are a migraine sufferer you may find this next part to be of interest…

PEMFs work at a cellular level to reduce inflammation, increase blood flow and oxygenation of the blood. These benefits can have knock on effects including the reduction of localised pain.

In Dr Pawluk’s article ‘Pain Management with PEMFs’ he writes about patients who suffered from headaches and failed to respond to other therapies and acupunture, had at least a 50% reduction in the frequency and the intesity of the headaches along with a reduction in the dependency of medication for them after appying PEMFs for at least 20 minutes a day. He also mentions a study where PEMF therapy applied away from the head may be able to help migraines. It states that PEMF therapy to the inner thigh, femoral artery area, can decrease headache activity. Short courses of therapy produced only about a 73% result in pain reduction versus a longer course of therapy, providing relief of about 90%.

You can also find some useful information about headaches and migraines over on the NewMed website, including a video from Dr Pawluk that you may find of use.  Click here to take a look.

With regards to which device you should you for migraines, well that all depends on a number of factors, and the team over at NewMed can help find the best one for you and your body!

One of the latest wearable devices for the NewMed shop is the Omni PEMF NeoRhythm, a very verstaile PEMF device that is worn on the head. If you are new to PEMF therapy this could be a great device to start with.
